About this blog

Welcome to my New Zealand blog where I enjoy sharing my passion for all things Kiwi.

I first travelled to New Zealand in 1995 as an ‘intrepid’ backpacker when I spend 6 weeks exploring the country courtesy of the Magic Travellers Network. I loved every minute of it, from the great hostels to the unmatched Kiwi hospitality, which saw a simple hitchhiking request turn into a full scale guided tour of Nelson! The scenery was quite nice too.

I think it’s fair to say that I fell for the South Island big time, however, in 2005 when I returned to the Land of the Long White Cloud to attend a friend’s wedding I discovered somewhere equally amazing - the North Island - specifically the Coromandel, East Cape and Hawke’s Bay. I realised that there is just so much to this country that you can’t ignore.

I’ve been very lucky in my work to be able to wax lyrical about NZ almost on a daily basis and this blog just gives me another excuse to do so. There are many aspects to New Zealand and I hope to be able to share a few of them with you.

So enjoy and I hope you share my enthusiam by posting your own comments.
