OK, this week for my blog topic I came up with a choice of two: fashion or coffee. Given my previous propensity for all things foody, it'll probably come as no surprise to you that I've chosen the latter. I love coffee after all!
The Viaduct Harbour in Auckland plays host to the fourth annual New Zealand Coffee Festival, between 17 and 19 August and it sounds right up my street! Open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, there's 50 stands all serving coffee, competitions to see who can produce the best take-away cup and even seminars about 'Setting up a Cafe' and 'The Art of Coffee'.
"The Australian Baristaroos are coming to Auckland to take on The Black Cups in the Da Vinci Trans Tasman Barista Challenge. In another competition, 30 of New Zealand’s best baristas will battle it out to make the best 'to-go' coffee based on speed, taste and latte art".
How could this not be a winner and it's a great reason to hang around Auckland's funky harbour.
Just so you know, Air New Zealand Fasion Week is being held 16-22 Sept 07 in the Viaduct Marine Village, Auckland so I might go all Edina and Patsy on you nearer the time.

when i went to new zealand I was amazed at the lower price of coffee. costa coffee charge £2.55 for a mocha while in takapuna most places were aroun £1.20 when converted back... you know thats a lot of coffee!! whats more the coffee over in NZ is actually a lot better than UK.. well in 9/10 cases. its not bitter at all. i have a coffee blog infact which is www.coffeefranchise.co.nz which shows my dedication to caffeine... crikey i seem to need a coffee!
btw i often am described as a lurker so havent posted here before, but this is truly a very nice site, well done.
